Endoscopic procedures

Through the mouth. No cuts, no scars.

01 Intragastric Balloon procedure illustration
Endoscopic · Temporary · Reversible

Intragastric Balloon

IGB · Orbera · 6–12 months

A soft silicone balloon is placed inside the stomach through the mouth using an endoscope. The balloon takes up space, reducing capacity and slowing gastric emptying. The only reversible weight loss procedure — removed endoscopically after 6 or 12 months.

10–15% Body weight lost
Same day Discharge
Reversible Removed at end
02 Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty illustration
Endoscopic · Permanent

Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty

ESG · Suture gastroplasty

The stomach is sutured from the inside using an endoscope through the mouth — no cuts, no scars. Sutures reduce the stomach's functional volume by up to 70%, producing fullness with smaller meals. Surgical-equivalent results without a surgical procedure.

15–20% Body weight lost

Surgical procedures

Laparoscopic. Permanent. The most effective route.

03 Sleeve Gastrectomy medical illustration
Surgical · Laparoscopic · Permanent

Sleeve Gastrectomy

LSG · Laparoscopic sleeve · 1–3 night stay

80% of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a narrow sleeve. The removed portion contains most of the cells producing ghrelin — the hunger hormone — so appetite decreases significantly beyond simple restriction. The most commonly performed bariatric procedure worldwide.

25–30% Body weight lost
1–3 nights Hospital stay
Permanent Long-term result
04 Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass medical illustration
Surgical · Laparoscopic · Highest T2 remission

Gastric Bypass

RYGB · Roux-en-Y · 1–3 night stay

The stomach is divided into a small pouch connected directly to the mid-section of the small intestine, bypassing a section where most calories are absorbed. Most effective procedure for Type 2 diabetes remission — blood sugar often normalises within days of surgery, before any weight is lost.

30–35% Body weight lost
1–3 nights Hospital stay
80–90% T2 diabetes remission

Questions for patients

Everything you need to know about our doctor-led treatments, consultations, and clinic in HSR Layout.

Most programmes treat weight. We treat what's causing the weight. Before recommending anything, we look at your blood markers, hormonal profile, and metabolic picture — because in most cases where diets have failed, something physiological is driving it, not a lack of willpower. We find that. Then we fix it.
You book a free discovery consultation — in person at our Bangalore or Chennai clinic, or via video call. A metabolic health coach reviews your goals, history, and any existing reports. You leave with a clear recommendation for which programme or next step is right for you. No commitment required at that stage.
Yes — and this is one of the most common situations we see. Many patients arrive without a diagnosis but with insulin resistance, early-stage fatty liver, or subclinical thyroid dysfunction that no one has connected to their weight. Diagnostic panel finds it. If there's nothing metabolic driving it, we'll tell you that too — and put you on the right food and coaching programme.
A nutritionist gives you a meal plan. We give you a diagnosis first. Every programme at The Good Weight begins with understanding what's metabolically happening in your body — then building a plan around that. We have obesity specialist doctors, metabolic health coaches, and clinical dietitians working together. And we measure success in blood markers, not just the number on the scale.
The discovery consultation is free. There is no charge to speak to our team, understand your options, or decide which route is right for you.
The paid consultation with our Doctor or a nutritionist is ₹1,000. If you're exploring a surgical procedure, the surgeon consultation is ₹1,500.
Any of those conditions points to our Metabolic Weight programme — a doctor-led metabolic programme that treats the condition and the weight together, starting with a full diagnostic panel. We don't recommend a programme until we've seen your blood work. Book a free discovery consultation and we'll tell you exactly where to start.
Both. Our initial consultations, coaching sessions, and periodic reviews are all available via video call — for patients anywhere in India. In-person visits are available at our Bangalore (HSR Layout) and Chennai (OMR, Adyar) clinics. Procedures require an in-person visit, but everything before and after can be remote.
It depends on the programme. Food kit members typically report measurable change in energy within 10 days and visible weight change by day 30. GLP-1 patients usually see movement within 2 weeks. Metabolic patients track blood marker improvement at the first monthly review — often 6–8 weeks in. We show you data at every stage so you always know where you stand.
